ACCESSIBILITY COMMITMENT

ENSURING THE CULTURE IS OPEN TO ALL

Last Updated: March 23, 2026

At LyricsService ("LyricsService", "we", "us", or "our"), we believe that musical culture and the lyrics that shape it should be accessible to everyone, regardless of ability, device, or assistive technology. Our mission is to decode the culture in a way that is inclusive, readable, and usable for as many people as possible.

Our Accessibility Goals

We aim to design and maintain the LyricsService website in alignment with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA wherever reasonably possible. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

While we strive for a high level of accessibility, the site is a living platform and may not yet meet every success criterion in all areas. Our commitment is to continuous improvement rather than a static, one-time compliance statement.

What LyricsService Does

LyricsService is a lyrics and cultural analysis archive. We do not host or stream audio files, music videos, or any form of musical playback. Instead, we:

  • Display song lyrics, metadata, and related textual information.
  • Provide written analysis, explanations, and cultural commentary created by our editorial team and Curators.
  • Organize musical knowledge into artist pages, song pages, and thematic collections that can be read like an online reference.

Because we focus on text-based content, accessibility is central to our design: our goal is to ensure that the words behind the music can be accessed with screen readers, keyboard navigation, and other assistive technologies.

Technical Measures and Design Features

To support accessibility, we have implemented (and are continuing to improve) features such as:

  • Clean, high-contrast typography designed for legibility on both light and dark backgrounds where applicable.
  • Responsive layouts that adapt to different screen sizes, including phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops.
  • Keyboard navigation support, including logical tab order, focus indicators, and skip-to-content links where possible.
  • Semantic HTML structure, including headings, lists, and landmark roles, to help assistive technologies correctly interpret page sections and navigation.
  • Descriptive labels and alt text for functional images and controls, wherever they are essential to use the site.
  • Minimization of flashing or rapidly animated content to reduce risks for users with photosensitivity.

Some legacy pages or newly added features may temporarily fall short of our internal standards, but we treat such gaps as issues to be fixed, not permanent design choices.

Ongoing Improvements

Accessibility is an ongoing process. We regularly:

  • Review new designs and features with accessibility in mind before deploying them.
  • Fix issues reported by users, testers, or team members as part of our standard development cycle.
  • Monitor platform updates (browsers, screen readers, operating systems) that may affect how lyrics pages or analysis content are rendered.

We cannot promise that every part of LyricsService will be perfectly accessible on every device or assistive technology at all times, but we do commit to listening, learning, and improving.

Third-Party Content and Tools

LyricsService may use third-party services (such as fonts, analytics, or advertising networks) and may link to external websites. Those third-party systems are outside of our direct control and may not always meet the same accessibility standards.

Where possible, we:

  • Select tools and partners that are compatible with accessibility best practices.
  • Avoid embedding third-party widgets that significantly degrade accessibility of a page.
  • Clearly mark external links when it is relevant to the user experience.

We cannot guarantee the accessibility of third-party content, but we will review third-party elements if users identify specific accessibility barriers.

Feedback and Contact

We welcome feedback from users who rely on assistive technologies or have specific accessibility needs. If you experience any barriers while using LyricsService, or if you have suggestions for improvement, please contact our accessibility team:

We will review all accessibility communications in good faith and take reasonable steps to address validated issues in a timely manner.
